Yugi Moto is kind-hearted and child-like. He is good at games, riddles, and puzzles, especially Duel Monsters. Yugi possesses the Millennium Puzzle, which allows his body to bear host to the spirit of the Puzzle, Yami Yugi (also known as Atem). Yugi was initially unaware of his existence and control of Yugi's body would involuntarily shift to Yami, when Yugi or his friends are wronged. He lives with his grandfather Solomon Moto, and has a cousin on his father's side of the family named Kai.
Yugi is part of a close-knit group of friends: Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor, and Tea Gardner as well as Ryo Bakura and (in some cases) Mokuba Kaiba. Yugi's friends often cheer him on from the sidelines, and Joey has dueled at his side. Yugi has been friends with Tea since childhood and has a crush on her. Tea has been shown to have feelings for both Yugi and Yami Yugi. However, Tea eventually falls in love with Mickey Redstone and marries him. Yugi eventually started to date Rebecca Hawkins. Yugi was the speaker at the group's high school graduation, with a speech so moving it brought Tristan and Joey to tears. After graduating, Yugi kept working at his grandfather's shop, hoping to develop a game of his own.
Joey and his sister, Serenity Wheeler, were separated when their parents divorced when he was 10. Serenity was brought up by her mother while Joey lived with his father. Joey and Tristan Taylor used to bully Yugi Muto at school. At one point Joey took a piece of Yugi's Millennium Puzzle and threw it into a swimming pool from a window outside of their classroom. However when Tetsu started beating up Joey and Tristan, Yugi stood up for them, saying they were his friends. Joey was inspired by how Yugi had tried to help him and came to care for Yugi. He retrieved the piece of the puzzle in the pool and gave it to Yugi. Yami Yugi then punished Tetsu with a Penalty Game. Joey became friends with Tea Gardner through Yugi.
After taking up Duel Monsters, it becomes clear that Joey isn't very good at the game initially, so Yugi suggests that Joey take lessons from Solomon Moto, Yugi's grandfather. The training proves rigorous, yet Joey copes and becomes a stronger duelist. He makes the top eight in the regionals. Joey then accompanies Yugi in the Duelist Kingdom tournament, to help Yugi rescue Solomon and so he can use the prize money, to pay for Serenity's eye operation. After the tournament is over, they had the money for the operation. Eventually, his sister then started to date and then marry Duke Devlin, who Joey didn't approve of. Currently, Joey's become a boxer.
Tristan was a classmate of Yugi and Joey while in Domino High School, who often bullied Yugi with Joey, until Yugi stood up for them when Tetsu started beating them up. The three became good friends ever since. Tristan also was friends with Tea and Bakura. Eventually, when Joey decides to become a boxer, Tristan stands by his friend as his cornerman.
Tea Gardner is a childhood friend of Yugi Moto. Tea does not usually play games with Yugi and his friends, but she could beat Joey Wheeler in Duel Monsters when he was first starting out, and was later shown to be more than competent against others. She is also very good at dancing and wants to be a professional dancer when she grows up.
After Atem (Pharoah) was finally at peace, Tea began a relationship with Mickey Redstone, who shared her love of dance. Lost her virginity to a creature called Radnal, because of an arrangement made by her mother. After graduation, Tes left Domino to study abroad, while Mickey left on a different flight, to travel the world studying dance. A few weeks after leaving Domino, Tea was abducted to the island kingdom of Shabadaba, where it's Sultan made her his bride. She grew to love her husband, and gave birth to a son, Rashid. After the Sultan died of natural causes, Tea returned to Domino with a bit of wealth, most of which was taken for taxes. Tea moved to New York, where she became a choreographer for a Broadway musical about Dark Magician Girl. Mickey arrived just before the show opened and proposed. Before she could say yes, she was taken by Dracula. Mickey temporarily defeated him, giving Tea a chance to say yes. They married quickly. Dracula returned on the show's opening night, but Mickey stopped him before he could take Tea to Transylvania.
Tea and Mickey's new happiness was disrupted by mobsters, working for the mysterious Mr K (the computerized consciousness of Gozebura Kaiba). Mr K went after Tea, hoping to make her his. Mickey and Tea faked their deaths, and made their way back to Domino. Mr K and his thugs followed, killing Mickey's parents. Mickey helped the police apprehend them. Tea had other unwanted suitors. Dracula's son, Alucard. The future Duel Monster Chillobite. The nameless one, ruler of all Vampires. And a returning Radnal. Dark Magician Girl eventually cast a spell on Mickey and Tea, protecting them from monsters, as long as their love was strong. Tea and Mickey eventually became (Briefly) a part of the Society of Light, during which time Tea became pregnant. Their child was supposed to be Sartorious' master plan, but the Society was defeated before the child's birth. Tea gave birth to a healthy son, named Edgar after Mickey's father. Tea returned to Shabadaba,at Rashid's request. Unfortunately, she was being turned over to the ruler of a rival nation in an attempt to avoid war. When this wicked Caliph learned Tea was of common birth, he abandoned her to the sea. She was rescued by Mickey, along with help from Seto Kaiba. She was also reunited with Rashid, who was sorry for what he did to his mother. Tea soon found herself helping to save the world, by becoming the mate of a creature named Volcanous, Chillobite's eternal rival. Thanks to an odd time flow, she was back with Mickey within a matter of days, despite being with Volcanous for 100 years. Things were quiet for Mickey and Tea, who now have a daughter named Elisa, after Mickey's aunt who died when he was very young.
Rebecca is the granddaughter of Arthur Hawkins, an old friend of Yugi Moto's grandfather, Solomon Moto. When Rebecca first met Yugi and the others, she was the Intercontinental Champion of Duel Monsters. Eventually, she and Yugi get together and start dating. She also eventually gets impregnanted by Dracula, bearing a son named Alucard.
Seto Kaiba is the majority shareholder and CEO of his own multi-national gaming company, KaibaCorp, who aims to become the world's greatest player of Duel Monsters. To accomplish this goal, he must defeat his arch-rival, Yugi Moto. He was being sued for a bad business deal with a Japanese trading card company. 4Kids is also mentioned in this suit. He has recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Maximillion Pegasus is the President of Industrial Illusions and the creator of the game of Duel Monsters. He owns many cards that have never been released to, or possibly even seen by, the public. He was the one behind the entire Duelist Kingdom tournament, and eventually dueled Yugi, losing to him. He also wants to take over KaibaCorp and gain possession of the Millennium Items to combine KaibaCorp technology with the items in the hope of reviving his lover, Cecelia. He eventually became allies to Yugi and his friends. He's also mentioned in Kaiba's suit.
Mai Valentine is a self-absorbed woman who is only set out for prize money, personal satisfaction and power. Mai is extremely lonely and at first, is convinced that she doesn't need friends. At one point, she believed her "Harpie Lady" cards were the closest she would ever have to friends. Mai's selfish attitude and outlook on life continues until she meets and finds meaning with Yugi Moto and his friends. After she meets them, she seems to start caring more for her friends and the deeper meanings of the game. Later on, Mai's wins become empty and her feelings of loneliness return. However, as she continues on she appears to regain her self-esteem and pride as a true duelist.
She eventually falls in love and marries Elias Redstone III, who is Mickey Redstone's uncle. They have a daughter, Valentina (nicknamed Tina), and a second child named Elias IV. They also run a pre-academy school for Duelists too young to attend Duel Academy. Mai was abducted by a demon, Er Mo, who impregnanted her. All but one of these children were destroyed. The surviving child, named Yugi Redstone, was saved because he was more like Mai than like Er Mo. He was taken by Dark Magician Girl to be raised. He aged quickly, and fell in love with Dark Magician Girl.
Serenity Wheeler is Joey Wheeler's younger sister. The two were separated at a very young age when their parents got divorced. Serenity went to live with her mother while Joey with his father. Years later, Joey receives a video tape from Serenity. In it, she tells him that time is running out for her because she needs an operation to repair her eyesight or else she will go blind. The operation, however, is very expensive and to pay for it, Joey needs to win the three million dollar prize at the Duelist Kingdom tournament. Despite not having an invitation, Joey is allowed on the ship after Yugi gives him one of his Star Chips. Yugi also gives him the three million dollars he won to Joey so he can pay for Serenity's eye operation. After her operation, Battle City begins. Serenity spends most of the tournament in the hospital recovering with Tristan taking care of her. She finally removes the bandages around her eyes and sees clearly for the first time. Afterwards, she hangs out with the gang for the finals and becomes friends with Mai Valentine and Tea Gardner, who both treat her like a younger sister.
During the Virtual World arc, she duels once alongside Tristan Taylor and Duke Devlin against a member of the Big Five, Nezbitt but is not very experienced. She goes into a state of shock after Tristan loses, feeling responsible for getting him involved in the first place, but regains her confidence and, reflecting on the basic rules she learned from Tristan earlier, barely wins. After awhile, Serenity falls in love with and marries Duke Devlin, much to Tristan's dismay.
Marik Ishtar's family guarded the tomb of the Pharaoh for generations and two Millennium Items (the Millennium Rod and Millennium Necklace) were passed on to Marik and his sister Ishizu Ishtar. Marik was forbidden to leave the Pharaoh's tomb due to his father's fear that the freedom and marvels of the outside world would further divert Marik's attention from his heritage. Marik no longer wanted to become a Tombkeeper, so his adoptive brother Odion Ishtar asked if he could take Marik's place but was refused. When Marik was forced to take the initiation ritual to become a full Tombkeeper, Marik spawned his second personality Yami Marik from the pain he endured. A year later, Marik and Ishizu took a forbidden trip to surface but their father found out and attempted to kill Odion. In the misdt of his father's torture of Odion, Marik blanked out and his second personality Yami Marik emerged for the first time to resist his father's punishment and claimed the Millennium Rod for himself. Ignoring his father's orders to put it down, Yami Marik used its powers to smash him against the wall. When Ishizu protested, she suffered the same strike. Yami Marik then proceeded to kill his father. After Yami Marik was sealed away in Marik's body by Odion, Marik believed it was the Pharaoh that had killed his father.
As a teenager, Marik was the leader of the Rare Hunters organization as he wished with the Millennium Rod to obtain the three Egyptian God Cards so that he could unlock their power for himself so that he could gain the title of "Pharaoh" and set his family free. He also had a hidden agenda - to get revenge on the Nameless Pharaoh's soul for killing his father as he mistakenly believed that it was the Pharaoh's fault. While he wanted the power of the God Cards and the Nameless Pharaoh's Millennium Puzzle to gain the power of the Pharaoh and rule the world, he retains his hate of the Pharaoh. Although he and his Rare Hunters uncovered "The Winged Dragon of Ra" and "Slifer the Sky Dragon" from where Maximillion Pegasus had hidden, they were unable to uncover "Obelisk the Tormentor" which was taken by Ishizu and gave it to Seto Kaiba.
During the Battle City tournament, Marik and his Rare Hunters hacked into to Battle City's computer system and entered themselves in the tournament. After the Pharaoh defeated the weakest Rare Hunter, Marik used the Millennium Rod to take over the Rare Hunter's body to introduce himself to the Pharaoh. After the Pharoah defeated Arkana, Marik used the Millennium Rod to take over Arkana's body to introduce himself to Yugi Moto. Wanting something done right, Marik controlled (via the Millennium Rod) a Rare Hunter to use Slifer against the Pharoah to take the Millennium Puzzle from him but the Pharaoh defeated the Rare Hunter and took Silfer as his prize. While Yugi and Kaiba dueled Lumis and Umbra, Marik used his Millennium Rod to brainwash Joey Wheeler and Tea Gardner. After Kaiba used Obelisk to defeat Umbra, Marik used the Millennium Rod to take over Lumis's body and brag about having Yugi's friends. Having a Rare Hunter hold Tea hostage, the deadly duel between the Pharaoh and Joey went through much to Kaiba's horror. In the midst of the duel, Yugi took over for the Pharaoh much to Marik's anger as he wanted to see the Pharaoh's demise not his teenage vessel's. When Marik forced Joey with the Millennium Rod's full power, Joey was able break free with his will power. Later, Marik teamed up with Yami Bakura in a verbal deal consisting of Marik's relinquishment of the Millennium Rod if Yami Bakura defeat the Pharaoh.
Marik, Bakura, and Odion took places in the quarter-finals. Marik took the guise of Namu while Odion pretended to be "Marik" as nobody (sans Yami Bakura) had actually met him in person. After Bakura was defeated by Yugi in the first quarter-final match, Marik had Odion use a counterfeit Ra card in his quarter-final against Joey Wheeler. When Joey suspected that he was not dueling the real Marik, Odion had been dueling with honor while Marik was cruel and sadistic, Marik ordered Odion to use the counterfeit Ra to "show" he's Marik but Ra was angered by this and wrathfully struck both duelists with lightning, ultimately rendering Odion and Joey unconscious. After Joey defeated Odion, the latter reveals to Yugi and Joey that he is really Marik's servant while Marik began to suffer sudden headaches. After Odion was further rendered unconscious, Marik revealed himself to Yugi, Joey, Kaiba, Tea, Tristan Taylor, Duke Devlin, Mokuba Kaiba, and Serenity Wheeler and Mai Valentine. Suddenly, Marik cried out in pain as his darker personality Yami Marik appeared and gained control of his body. When Ishizu dueled Kaiba in the fourth quarter-final match, Marik tried to call out to Ishizu but Yami Marik trapped Marik in a "prison" built out his own fear and pity. After the quarter-finals, Marik's reformed soul teams up with Yami Bakura to stop Yami Marik, but failed when Yami Marik uses Ra's other abilities, which were unknown to Marik but Marik (through Téa) warned Ishizu to hide Odion from Yami Marik in order to save his life. In the final duel between Yami Marik and the Pharaoh, their weaker selves were the victims of the Shadow Game being played. As the duel went on, Yami Marik became the dominant host of Marik's body while the real Marik's soul slowly faded out of existence. This Shadow Game gave him a clear edge, for when the Pharaoh lost Life Points, Yugi's body would fade away, when Yami Marik lost Life Points, the original Marik would fade away. While they dueled, Odion woke up and made Marik realize he had to accept his responsibility for being a Tombkeeper. With this confidence, Marik overpowered his evil self and forfeited, destroying Yami Marik. Marik gave the Pharaoh the Millennium Rod and the Ra card. Marik then revealed the Tombkeeper's initiation. The carving of the pharaoh's memory onto the back of a tomb guardian involves using a tattoo on his back. Fulfilling his duty as a Tombkeeper, Marik returned to Egypt to start a new life.
Yami Marik, however, returns from the Shadow Realm controlling various duelists at the Duel Academy. It's there that he confronts Kai Moto, Yugi's cousin; while in the guise of Mikey O'Shea. In their first duel, Kai defeated Yami Marik, saving his friends. However, Yami Marik returned later, now with his own body, and was able to defeat Kai sending him to the Shadow Realm. Mikey is the one this time that eventually defeats Yami Marik, freeing his friend from the Shadow Realm in the process.
Ishizu Ishtar's family guarded the tomb of the Pharaoh for generations and 2 of the Millennium Items; the Millennium Rod and the Millennium Necklace, which were were passed on to Ishizu and her brother Marik. Marik, who was forbidden to leave the Pharaoh's tomb because it might divert his attention away from his heritage, convinced Ishizu to let him take a trip outside. Marik no longer wanted to become a Tomb Keeper and when he was forced to take the initiation ritual to become a full Tomb Keeper, he unwillingly unleashed Yami Marik, who took the Millennium Rod for himself. Yami Marik then sent his father to the Shadow Realm. Regardless, Yami Marik was sealed away in Marik's body by Odion. Ishizu attempts to stop Marik's quest of unlocking the power of the Pharaoh for himself by taking the Egyptian God Card, "Obelisk the Tormentor" before Marik can.
In the Battle City tournament, Ishizu is the Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities. She became a museum curator in order to lure Yugi MOto and Seto Kaiba in order to save Marik from his darker alter ego, Yami Marik. She gave Kaiba "Obelisk The Tormentor" in exchange for him starting a tournament, where he could acquire the remaining God Cards, but told him that regardless he would end up returning the card. She had predicted this using the power of her Millennium Necklace. Ishizu qualifies to the Battle City quarter-finals, where she duels Kaiba. She predicts all of Kaiba's moves and foresees her victory, but a vision of Kisara compels Kaiba to summon "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" instead of Obelisk.
Kaiba claims to make his own future and tributes "Obelisk the Tormentor" and "Gadget Soldier" to summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon, hence avoiding his predicted defeat. Following her loss, Ishizu gives the Millennium Necklace to Yugi, claiming that it is no longer necessary as the future it predicts is not infallible and can be changed. During the finals where Yugi faced Marik, Odion convinces Marik to accept responsibility, freeing him from Yami Marik. Ishizu and Marik are then able to fulfill their duties as Tomb Keepers, by revealing the Pharaoh's memory which had been tattooed onto Marik's back. Ishizu, Marik and Odion then return to Egypt to start a new life.

Jaden Yuki is a headstrong, fun-loving, and talented Duelist. Jaden attended the Duel Academy, and was a Slifer student. He was friends with Syrus, Chumley, Alexis, Bastion, Tyranno, Blair and Chazz (even though Chazz never admitted it).
After graduating Duel Academy, Jaden has gone traveling across the world, to find exciting duels. He's being accompanied by Pharaoh, Professor Banner (whose spirit is inside Pharaoh) and Yubel.
Alexis Rhodes was a strong female Duelist from the Obelisk Blue dormitory at Duel Academy as well as one of Jaden's closest friends. She runs an Ice Queen variant deck. She also still owns her Machine Angel deck. During the time she attended Duel Academy, she met Kai Moto, Yugi's cousin. They started to date. She was eventually abducted by Chillobite, who desired her as his Queen, when he could no longer have Tea. Kai risked his own life to rescue her from Chillobite's domain, with help from Dark Magician Girl. Eventually, Alexis was cloned, resulting in Xely, who gave birth to a child called Judge.
After graduating Duel Academy, Alexis will be forced to go to the Shadow Realm, to be Zorc's slave. Upon being freed, Alexis becomes the bride of Frostbite, Chillobite's successor. Their son is Chillobite Reborn. This was prevented when Kai defeated Zorc, saving Alexis. Zorc took one of Alexis' hairs and made a clone, who would be more loyal to Zorc. This clone gave birth to a son, Zarc. The real Alexis left to teach at a Duel College in the United States. Kai will join her after graduation.
Syrus Truesdale is a former Slifer Red, then Ra Yellow, and Obelisk Blue student as well as Jaden's best friend. A decent Duelist, although hindered by a great deal of self-doubt, Syrus' journey towards strengthening himself provides sharp contrast to Jaden's active determination. Syrus has now long since graduated from Duel Academy.
Zane Truesdale is the top Duelist of Duel Academy when Jaden is in his first year. Zane serves as one of Jaden's rivals, though he takes a more brutal approach to Dueling after experiencing a transformation of mind later. Later on, he develops fatal heart conditions and seeks an opponent worthy enough to give him his final and greatest Duel before he expires, though he is later revived under unexplained circumstances.
Chazz Princeton is an arrogant Duelist who serves as one of Jaden's rivals in the same effect that Seto Kaiba is the rival of Yugi Muto. The two have Dueled one another a total of seven times throughout their time at Academy Island. Through his evolution, he goes from being a Duelist who only respected powerful cards to a duelist who believes that there can be effectiveness in any card. Eventually, Chazz started to become friends with Jaden, even though Chazz wouldn't admit it. When Jaden leaves to go travel the world for duels, Chazz left him a note that read "Come whenever you want and let's duel!"
Aster Phoenix is a child prodigy who arrives at Duel Academy in Jaden's second year. An intelligent vigilante, he is considered an anti-hero to Jaden. Although his unorthodox and illegal methods of attaining justice makes him practically an enemy to Jaden, he later joins Jaden's side after realizing that he was being manipulated by Sartorius, and later becomes a good friend of Jaden. He's also a pro-athlete, and excels at skiing, skydiving, skysurfing, and surfing. He uses a "Hero" deck when he Duels.
Jesse Anderson is a transfer student hailing from North Academy who enters Duel Academy in the third year. Sometimes, people call him 'Jess' as a nickname. Jesse is kind, thoughtful, and sometimes shy. Excitable and energetic much like Jaden, he serves as one of Jaden's allies. Although a close friend, his disappearance serves a catalyst for Jaden's descent into darkness as The Supreme King of the alternate dimension. Jesse is later possessed by the spirit of Yubel, Jaden's favorite card in childhood, using him and his "Crystal Beasts" as mediators to act through.
Sartorius serves as the leader of the Society of Light, but becomes an ally to Jaden and the others after they're disbanded. He is a fortune-teller with dual personalities and, under the influence of an alien force, he's poised to remake the world in the image most befitting to the extraterrestrial radiance within him.
Blair Flannigan is an underage student who also happens to be the only girl in the Slifer Red dorm. She entered Duel Academy during her first year disguised as a boy. She is placed in the Slifer Red dormitory, and guided by Jaden, Syrus, and Chumley. Behind her guise, Blair intended to get closer to Zane, with whom she was in love. While sneaking around Zane's room in Obelisk Blue, she is caught by Jaden, who discovers her secret and pursues her on the matter late at night after the confrontation. The two duel, and although Blair is defeated, she finally has the opportunity to meet with Zane. He is flattered by her affections, but turns her down, telling her to go home. Being a second grade elementary student, she is forced to leave the school on the technicality that she is too young to stay. As she departs, her feelings shift from Zane to Jaden, much to the latter's horror.
During the second year, Blair returns near the end of the Genex Tournament and challenges Zane following his "rebirth," but he declines, and she instead duels with Chazz to claim the champion title of the tournament and officially enter Slifer Red. Despite overwhelming improvement in her skills that allow her to push him into a corner, Chazz is able to claim victory in the end. At that time, an integral part of Blair's personality becomes clearer. Her love interests are constantly changing, as evidenced by her brief admiration of Chazz, which is quickly replaced once more by her infatuation with Jaden.
Tyranno Hassleberry is a Ra Yellow duelist who enters Duel Academy in the second year. To his surprise, he was assigned to the Ra Yellow dorm despite scoring high on the Duel Academy entry exam due to the fact that he did not attend an associated preparatory school. Tyranno made his first appearance when he complained to Vellian Crowler and Jean-Louis Bonaparte about not getting into Obelisk Blue. He then is seen heading a gang and stealing the Duel Disks of those he defeated. He was defeated by Jaden and returned the stolen items and came to idolize Jaden. Although his dorm is technically Ra Yellow he decides to live in Slifer Red to be closer to and learn from Jaden. From his introduction onwards, he often fights with Syrus Truesdale over who is better suited to being Jaden's best friend.
Yubel is an evil Duel Monster whose card was in Jaden Yuki's possession when he was a child, Yubel is deranged and manipulative, mainly manipulating others to accomplish her goals.
Yubel is the mastermind behind the Survival Duels and the creation of the Martin Empire. An unknown amount of time ago, Yubel and the boy who would become The Supreme King lived in unnamed kingdom. The King informed Yubel that a certain individual held the power of the Gentle Darkness, and that he needed a guardian to watch over him until he grew to adulthood and could control his power. Yubel volunteered to be that guardian, and was transformed from a human into the form she is most commonly seen in, referred to as a dragon. Jaden's ancestor swore that he would love her and only her after that transformation. In the modern era, Yubel's spirit is made into a card by Industrial Illusions. The card was eventually found by Jaden's father and since Jaden was the reincarnation of the person she swore to protect, and whom she remembered loved her and whom she loved, Yubel guarded him once again. Yubel wished to guard Jaden from any and all perceived threats, which unfortunately included any threats to their friendship. During that time she caused anybody that Jaden Dueled to fall into a coma, including an acquaintance of Jaden's named Osamu. This caused other people view Jaden as cursed and became too scared to Duel him. Under Jaden's request (hoping that she would gain the "powers of justice" that "Elemental Hero Neos" would eventually gain, in hopes that it would correct whatever was wrong with Yubel's soul), Yubel was sent into outer space by KaibaCorp in a separate satellite from his contest-winning card designs, the Neo-Spacians, but the card absorbed power from what she described as "a darker form of energy" than Neos, which made her powerful but caused her extreme pain.
After an indeterminate amount of time in isolation, Yubel's capsule returned to Earth, though the shock of reentry destroyed all but a single forearm of Yubel's body, which was eventually found by Professor Viper. Tricking Viper into helping her with the promise of restoring his adopted son Pierce to life, Yubel coerced him into creating the Bio-Bands and Survival Duels, absorbing the energy produced by them so she could reform her shattered body, and eventually take back Jaden.
Jaden is eventually able to forgive Yubel and, foiling her plan to destroy all the dimensions, fuses his soul with Yubel's, which she willingly took part when she was purged of the insanity caused by the Light of Destruction in process, and reuniting it with him for all time.
Dr. Vellian Crowler is the head professor and department chair of techniques at Duel Academy. Initially scheming and underhanded in attempting to expel Jaden Yuki, Crowler grows throughout the series to appreciate all his students and in turn be respected for his noble actions.
Crowler ascends to the position of vice-principal of Duel Academy after Bonaparte quits. As Jaden's graduation nears, he reverts to the cruel and bitter personality he had in the first year, making his students do math problems and even having them spend entire classes doing pushups. When he wouldn't show up to his lessons, the students chased him around to school to know why he acted so odd. He revealed to them that he didn't want any of them to leave, and thus wanted them to not take enough classes to graduate. Jaden Duels him, and Crowler fights back brilliantly (even pushing Jaden into a corner multiple times) but is defeated by Jaden in the same manner he did during the entrance exams (causing Crowler to joke that using "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman" in conjunction with "Skyscraper" is the only strategy Jaden knows). This act restores Crowler to his usual self, leading him to make Jaden make up for all the classes he had missed recently. It is assumed that Crowler, along with everyone else, was pulled into the world of Darkness during the Trueman siege and brought back when Jaden defeated Nightshroud. He was last seen trying to make a speech to the third-years, but broke down and cried violently before being carried out by the other staff members. Afterward, he attended the graduation party with his students.
Jean-Louis Bonaparte was the Vice-Chancellor of Duel Academy beginning in the second year.
Bonaparte is a stout man hailing from Paris, France. His main goal was initially to try and improve Duel Academy as best as he could; although, his actions aren't always in the best interest of some students (such as his repeated attempts at demolishing the Slifer Red Dormitory since he felt they were "dragging the school down"). His attempts at destroying the Red Dorm were thwarted by Crowler (likely because of his new-found respect for Jaden Yuki). Once, Bonaparte and Crowler had been led to believe that they had been fired when Chancellor Sheppard had shouted at them exclaiming "I want you out, and never come back!" Shortly thereafter, he Dueled with Crowler against Maximillion Pegasus in an attempt to obtain a job at Industrial Illusions. During the Duel, Pegasus mislead the two with a more coveted position to the team-mate with the higher Life Points. Bonaparte immediately started attacking Crowler in an attempt to get the job (the offer was in fact later revealed to be a ruse, to test the two in eligibility). Eventually after a "pep talk" from Jaden the two agreed to Duel together instead of against each other. Even still they lost the Duel, but Pegasus had agreed they were both welcome to work for him; however, it is then revealed by Sheppard that they had never lost their jobs, and much to their dismay, Pegasus told them to keep their current ones. Following Duel Academy's arrival in an alternate dimension, his son Marcel had been possessed by the Duel Spirit Yubel. When he realizes his son's disappearance, he tries at every opportunity to find and rescue him. Previously married, Bonaparte's son is in the custody of his ex-wife, Joséphine. During Jaden's fourth year, he quits Duel Academy in order to spend more time with Marcel.
Trueman, also known as Mr. T, calls himself Trueman based on the claim that he never lies. As the powerful and mysterious "Messenger of Darkness" who vows to destroy those who try to figure out his agenda, Trueman serves as a catalyst in Jaden's fourth year. However, it is later revealed that he is a herald of Nightshroud, the true mastermind behind the vicious siege. Trueman can shapeshift and move from place to place with thought; he appears to be made out of cards when he does this.

Yusei takes her hand, and the two stare into each other's eyes intimately. Yusei decides to stay in New Domino to protect it, as he says farewell to Akiza, who has decided to study medicine abroad, Crow, who has decided to leave to return to dueling, and to Leo & Luna, who are leaving to live with their parents. With one last ride together, Crimson Dragon appears and removes all the Signer marks, allowing the heroes, including Yusei, to move on to their respective futures, without the heavy destiny of protecting the world anymore.
Jack Atlas is Yusei Fudo's rival as well as one of his many friends. Jack was one of the Signers with the wings of the Crimson Dragon on his right arm.
Jack's parents were killed during the Zero Reverse incident. As a child, Jack was a lone wolf and never played with the other children. Later, he met Yusei Fudo and Crow Hogan and became one of their best friends. He was raised by Martha. In their teens, Jack, Yusei and Crow met Kalin Kessler and formed The Enforcers as a way to improve their lives in Satellite, by becoming the best duelists in Satellite. After conquering all of Satellites zones, Kalin changed, taking dueling so seriously that he forced a kid into a Duel and proceeded to beat him up after winning. Unhappy with Kalin's attitude, Jack and Crow left the team. After learning that Kalin was on the run from Sector Security, Yusei approached Jack to ask him to help. The reunited gang caught up with Kalin in an abandoned storage building. They told him that he had changed and tried to get him to abort the battle with Security. After Yusei stopped Kalin from attacking a badly beaten Security, Crow and Jack held Kalin in a room while Yusei tried to convince Security that he, himself, was the leader, in the hopes Kalin wouldn't be arrested. However Kalin, got arrested, ultimately ending the team.
Yusei and Jack spent much of their time with Nervin, Blitz, Tank and Rally afterwards. Jack came into possession of the card "Red Dragon Archfiend". Jack dueled and defeated Yusei, after which he told Yusei that one cannot win a Duel with Monsters, Spell or Trap Cards alone, only with them joined up. He pointed to his heart as he said, "All you need to amass yourself in victory is right here." At the time, Yusei did not understand what he meant. Jack eventually fell out with Yusei after a difference in goals. Jack aspired to be a King and spent a lot of his time sitting in a throne in an abandoned theater. He spent little time with his friends, although Rally occasionally visited. Jack once saved Rally from a group of bullies, but didn't stick around to converse.
Ever since the start of the Dark Signers appeared, Carly Carmine has been trying to get close to Jack, as she wanted to get a "scoop" on him after his loss of his title of the King. Even though her intentions were at first professional, she developed a caring bond with Jack which blossomed into a friendship. This was especially shown when Carly became a Dark Signer and Jack wanted to end the duel in a draw so they would both lose together, because during the duel he realized he loved her. But Carly, using all her strength, overthrew the dark power and depleted her Life Points to 0 before Jack could lose. Since she revived from her apparent death, Carly has joined Jack on various quests, and continuously displays her love for him, even though he ignores it. She always attends Jack's Duels and cheers him on from the sidelines, along with Jack's other "Fan Girls", Stephanie and Mina Simington.
Some time has passed since Yusei's duel with Z-one. Jack, having received an invitation from the Ride Ace Dueling league, is prompted into becoming the World King. Therefore he goes around and defeats the best duelists he could think of such as Grieger, Sherry, and Kalin. Soon after, he finds and challenges Yusei to a duel which the latter accepts. Despite attacking relentlessly and summoning strong monsters such as Exploder Dragonwing and even his most powerful card, Red Nova Dragon, Jack eventually loses to Yusei after his Red Dragon Archfiend gets destroyed by Yusei's Junk Warrior. After this, Jack leaves New Domino City behind where he is later seen to be the King of the Ride Ace Dueling League, making him the World King.
Akiza, the Black Rose
Akiza Izinski, also known as "the Black Rose", was one of the Signers. Akiza possesses a "special power" which sets her apart from the rest of humanity, and even the rest of the Signers. This power enables her to physically materialize and bring to life monsters and the effects of Duel Monsters cards, allowing her to freely control them for various tasks.
She married Ernie Redstone, who helped her escape from the Arcadia Movement. Ernie also helps save her from Zorc, who promises to make her his bride, as long as she is still a virgin. She was eecently taken by Zorc, and given powers; recently drained by Xely. She can read minds, and has psychic powers. Currently, a clone lives with Ernie, and the real one is dead. Their first child, Elias Redstone VI, was born after an accelerated pregnancy. Elias VI was lost to save the world, but Akiza is now pregnant with twins. Currently in a coma after Team Catastrophe hacked into M.A.I. and the Duel Simulator. Due to her pregnancy, her Psychic powers are currently weaker than normal. She wuld give bith to two healthy children, Ernie Jr and Azika.
Ernie and Akiza would spend eighteen years living in Germany with their three children. Akiza became a Doctor, with a successful practice. Shortly after their 20th wedding anniversary, Ernie and Akiza moved their family back to New Domino, where it grew in two unexpected ways. First, Luna became married to Ernie Jr to save him from marriage to a native on an island near the old Duel Academy. While the marriage was planned to be annulled at first, their marriage became real, after Ernie Jr (or E.J.) saved Luna from the ancient dragon master, Atok-Set. However, it was also because of Atok-Set that Akiza and Ernie became grandparents. He kidnapped Azika, impregnating her. She recently have birth to a human-dragon hybrid, whose birth allowed Atok-Set to enter our world. Unlike EJ and Luna, there is little chance of Azika actually loving Atok-Set.
Leo (short for Leonard) is Luna's twin brother, and was one of the Signers who possessed the Heart Mark of the Dragon (as well as the only other Signer aside from Yusei, who has been able to weaken the "Meklord Emperors"). He and Luna aid Yusei Fudo, whom they admire and support, in his duels. Leo is the older twin of the two and has a lively and blundering personality.
Luna is Leo's fraternal twin sister. She and Leo aid Yusei Fudo, whom they admire and support, in his Duels. Luna is the younger of the twins, who is snobby, and tends to insult Leo. Unlike her brother, Luna does not seem to understand romance and crushes very well. She is a Signer who possessed the front claw mark. Luna tends to get tired right after a Duel. She has the ability to communicate with Duel Monsters after having spent ample time with Duel Spirits in a different dimension during a coma. Much to her brother Leo's irritation, she tends to candidly point out the various flaws in his plans, but does deeply care for her brother.
Eighteen years later, Luna would find love in a most unexpected fashion. When the Signers took shelter from a storm on an island near the now-abandoned Duel Academy, the chief's daughter chose Ernie Jr (E.J.), son of Ernie and Akiza, to be her husband. In order to get the Signers off the island, Luna fought the chief's daughter, with the winner being declared E.J.'s wife. Luna won, quite by accident, and was now married, according to island law.
When they returned to New Domino, Ernie and Akiza found out that the marriage was valid, and began the process to have it annulled. But the ancient dragon-master, Atok-Set took Luna along with E.J.'s twin sister Azika, to become the mothers of his children. Both were impregnated and returned to Earth. Atok-Set knew Ernie Jr's love for Luna would undue what he had done, so he had Leo attack him. A voice told Luna that loving E.J. could help her, so she began to turn this accidental marriage into a real one. They consummated their union in E.J.'s hospital bed, but not soon enough to save Azika.
Crow Hogan is one of Yusei Fudo's and Jack Atlas's childhood friends from the Satellite, and later the second Signer with the Tail Mark of the Dragon. One unique thing about him are the criminal marks on his face. He has been marked at least twice; he only had the "M" in his time with The Enforcers so he gained the dot and eye marks after leaving the team.
The Crimson Dragon is the embodiment of the Dragon Star, a god. 10,000 years before the present days events, the Crimson Dragon along with Ancient Fairy Dragon, Black Rose Dragon, Black-Winged Dragon, Red Dragon Archfiend and Stardust Dragon fought the Crimson Devil, Red Nova. During the battle, the Legendary Signer came forward from the ashes of a volcano and absorbed the Crimson Dragon's power, through Burning Soul, and uses it to defeat and seal the Crimson Devil.
5000 years before present day events, the People of the Stars , called upon the "Dragon Star" for aid to save their lands from the Earthbound Immortals that threatened the peace of their civilization. The "Dragon Star" answered their call and came down from the heavens in the form of the Crimson Dragon. The Crimson Dragon fought the Earthbound Immortals, with the help of its five servants. However instead of Black-Winged Dragon, Life Stream Dragon was present. The dragons managed to seal the Earthbound Immortals within the Nazca Lines. Consequently Ancient Fairy Dragon was lost, as Earthbound Immortal Uru dragged her in with it as the Dark Gods were defeated.
The Crimson Dragon reappeared during Yusei and Jack's duel when "Stardust Dragon" and "Red Dragon Archfiend" battled. Once again in their rematch during the Cup, the Crimson Dragon appeared. However, everyone was witness to it and with the four Signers present on the Cup, its appearance was more defined than the last time. Each Birthmark was clearly represented and the dragon's head also changed. During the duel, the legendary Dragon God transported Yusei, Jack, Luna and Akiza into an alternate dimension and showed a disturbing vision in which Satellite is being destroyed by an unknown force and in its place, a dark mark resembling the Spider appears.
The Red Dragon God shows itself once again to the four Signers at Rex Goodwin's place as he invites them in, right after Yusei and Akiza's second duel concludes. Goodwin then reveals to them a secret concerning the Red Dragon. That being; according to Goodwin, some sort of "fate" has been derived from the Crimson Dragon's power; one that, to those who are Signers, cannot be escaped from. That same so called fate was the one responsible for that Yusei and Jack could arrive to New Domino City. After the King of the Netherworld finally revives and heads towards New Domino City, where the Condor Geoglypgh is, the Dragon God appears in the sky, and takes the Signers, along with their companions, to where the ultimate fight will be held. It also transports Yusei, Jack and Crow's Duel Runners. After Yusei defeats Goodwin in the Ultimate Shadow Turbo Duel, The Crimson Dragon arrives, using Majestic Star Dragon to gain physical form, and destroys the King of the Netherworld by flying right through it. It disappears soon after.
The Dragon appears again towards the conclusion of the duel between Leo and Luna against Lester. As Lester's Meklord Emperor Skiel 8's attack towards Leo caused him to be blown off the riding lane, the Dragon uses a sphere that emerges from its claw, which ultimately engulfs the falling Leo, just to land him safely on a bridge that was below them. After this, it disappears. The Crimson Dragon influenced events to bring Jack Atlas to the Nazca region in order for him to learn something new. Towards the end of the ritual Duel between the Familiar of Red Nova and Jack Atlas, Red Nova appeared summoned by his servant wanting to take Jack. However the Crimson Dragon appeared and protected Jack. Greiger and Max identified the dragon as the shrine's protector Quetzalcoatl. Jack used the ability "Burning Soul" to capture Red Nova and transfer its power into a card, creating "Red Nova Dragon". After Jack defeats the Familiar, the temple comes crumbling down around Jack, Yusei, Greiger and Max. However the Crimson Dragon protected the four of them and flew away afterwards.
While on the 3 against 1 duel against Aporia, the Crimson Dragon appears again giving Leo his own Mark of the Dragon and releasing Life Stream Dragon from Power Tool Dragon. The Crimson Dragon also made an appearance while Yusei was Limit Over Accel Synchro Summoning Shooting Quasar Dragon.
The Crimson Dragon makes one final appearance years later, as it takes the Marks of the Dragon away from the Signers, their mission having been completed, and therefore, no longer needing them.
Carly Carmine is an unpaid intern for a newspaper who posts stories about street duels on a blog. She also claims that she is the number #1 Jack Atlas fan. She tries to report real stories for the newspaper, but at first never succeeds. Despite witnessing all the events concerning the Dark Signers, learning many secrets about New Domino City and Satellite and spending time with Jack Atlas, something always prevented her from writing a story. Carly becomes a Dark Signer with the hummingbird Dark mark, wearing a black robe of the Dark Signers accented with orange stripes and attempts to kill the Signer Jack Atlas. She fails, but is returned to normal after Goodwin's defeat.
She is disliked and somewhat envied by Mina and later Stephanie, due to the amount of time she spends with Jack. She also develops feelings for him during the time they spend together and is willing to follow him wherever he goes.
The creature Krakus used her as the mother of a child, who was used intially was a warrior. The child, fully matured, fell in love with Mina, who brought out his human side. He took the name Craig.
Carly is currently trying to find out about the Three heads currently running New Domino. She will type up fictional accounts of her and her son's events soon (as several books). She likes to read, especially fiction (or what she thinks is fiction). She uses a Fortune Fairy Deck when she duels.
After eighteen years, Carly's dream finally came true, when she and Jack married.
Mina Simington was the meek secretary to Rex Goodwin who watched over Jack Atlas. Despite her dedication and loyalty, Mina tended to unintentionally spark the wrath of her superiors. Mina loved Jack and rivaled Carly and Stephanie for his affections. At the same time, Trudge has a crush on Mina. Mina does not seem to get along with Lazar, as seen by them bickering while watching Jack duel Yusei.
Eventually, Mina became engaged to Craig, and became the Vice head of Security for New Domino. She sometimes duels, using either a fairy or Lightsworn deck. She's currently in the Shadow Realm, now being served by Zorc, and about to marry him. A clone with no memories of Craig has taken over, still using the same decks. She has two children with Zorc; Zina and Minorc.
About two years after Craig and Mina married, they were blessed with a daughter, who they named Minnie. The 16 year old would develop a crush on Ernie Redstone Jr, but he only had eyes for Luna.
Officer Tetsu Trudge
Testu Trudge attended Domino High School with Yugi, Tristan and Joey; where he was beating up Joey and Tristan in front of Yugi to his horror and imposing a bodyguard fee of ¥200,000. Yugi insisted that Joey and Tristan were his friends.
Years later in New Domino, Trudge is a member of Sector Security, and already knows Yusei Fudo. The two are involved in a feud. Trudge is a henchman to Rex Goodwin. His job as part of Sector Security was to prevent residents of the poverty-stricken area known as Satellite from escaping to New Domino City.
Eventually, Trudge becomes the current Vice Director of Security. His strongest card is "Goyo Guardian," which can resurrect the monsters it destroys as defenders for Trudge.
Kalin Kessler was a member of the Dark Signers and is currently a resident of Satisfaction Town. During his time as a Dark Signer, Kalin wore the black robe of the Dark Signers accented with blue stripes. His dark mark is the Giant. He had extreme hatred towards Yusei Fudo and his previous team (The Enforcers), but later forgives them after finding out the truth from his loss to Yusei. He is brought back to life after Goodwin's defeat. He was last seen in Crash Town, where Kalin attempted suicide by dueling in order to atone for his wrongdoing, only to be forgiven for them by his former teammates, Yusei Fudo, Jack Atlas and Crow Hogan. He later stays behind to help rebuild the town along with West and Nico, later renamed Satisfaction Town to cherish his team's honour. He uses an Infernity deck, without Dark Synchros.
Bruno; born Johnny, and also code named Vizor, was a man from an apocalyptic future, who following his death was recreated as an android by Z-one. Vizor was sent to the present, where he intentionally suffered amnesia and became a friend of the Signers, under a slightly different appearance and became known as Bruno. As Vizor, he has guided Yusei Fudo, so that he can defeat the "Meklord" monsters. According to Bruno, he was created for the sake of defeating the Three Pure Nobles, in order to stop their ambitions. According to Aporia, Bruno's memories were wiped out by Z-one in the first place with the intention of stimulating Team 5D's evolution.
He is one of the few left-handed duelists and as such, has his Wrist Dealer and Deck on his right arm (when human, he was right-handed and had them on his left arm). He was the only member of Team 5D's who never became a Signer.
Sherry LeBlanc is a female Turbo Duelist of French origin. Competing in the WRGP, she seeks to defeat Yliaster who's behind the tournament and orchestrated the death of her parents. She attempts to recruit Yusei Fudo on her team, with the intention of uncovering Yliaster's schemes through the Signers. It was only after she learns the fate of the future that she shifts her allegiance to Yliaster, as she aided in Z-one's plan to destroy New Domino City in return for having her family brought back. After being beaten by Akiza Izinski and Crow Hogan, Sherry returns to help save New Domino City, keeping her promise to her father to fight for justice. She's currently in the Arc Cradle.
Aporia is the true and combined form of the ones behind the World Racing Grand Prix, the Three Pure Nobles, Jakob, Primo and Lester. Each one of them is a different part of his lifetime, and are known as his 3 embodiments of despair: Lester being his childhood, Primo in his early midlife, and Jakob his older days. Aporia comes from an apocalyptic future world, which he sees as a failure by humans, and is determined to change history, to protect the world and to ensure it will never be destroyed by humanity's errors. He uses the three Cores as part of a larger scheme to defeat Yusei. Using a new Emperor, he attempts to defeat Yusei, and fails. He tried to duel again, but lost to Jack, Leo and Luna. Beaten, but not truly defeated, he tried to duel Z-One to save the future, but lost, and died.
Z-one (pronounced Zone), is a cyborg who serves as the one behind the Ark Cradle. He is the founder of Yliaster and is regarded as "The Ancient One". Through his connections to Paradox and Roman Goodwin, Z-one is effectively the one behind it all, being responsible for all of the others that tried to take over and Team 5D's stopped, as well as for the first Zero Reverse that split Satellite and Neo Domino City apart.
Z-one comes from an apocalyptic future where he assumed the identity of Yusei Fudo to try to save mankind from destruction from the Meklord Emperors, but failed to stop a Zero Reverse that destroyed the planet. With the world in ruins and humanity nearly extinct, Z-one sends robotic copies of his former fellow survivors Vizor, Paradox and Aporia back in time with the mission of changing history and averting the disaster. Though their intentions are noble, the four are willing to go to any lengths to succeed, killing thousands of innocents. During the Ark Cradle, Aporia's incarnations as the Three Pure Nobles plot to bring Z-one's lab, the Divine Temple, into the past to fall on and crush Neo Domino City. By this, Z-one believes that the discovery of Ener-D can be erased and the end of the world they have lived through will be averted. He uses a Temporal Machine God deck when he duels. He was beaten by Yusei, and saved his life by throwing him out of the Arc Cradle. Z-One then reversed the Arc Cradle, saving New Domino.

Yuma Tsukumo is a young Duelist who aspires to be the greatest, despite his poor skills. He finds himself unwillingly partnered with a Dueling spirit called Astral and together, they search for the "Numbers" cards to recover Astral's lost memories, thus, he became a Number Hunter.
Yuma grew up with his loving parents, Kazuma Tsukumo and Mira Tsukumo, older sister Akari Tsukumo, and grandmother Haru Tsukumo. Since he was young, Yuma has been going to the same school as his childhood friend, Tori Meadows, since their families has always been good terms with each other. As a child, he got the constant attention and affections of his parents, to his sister's chagrin. Very close to his parents, he would sometimes go on camping trips or rock climbing with his father. Due to his poor Dueling skills and constantly proclaiming that he will become a Duel champion, Yuma was frequently teased by others. One day, after losing a Duel against a few classmates and was teased about it, Yuma became depressed and sad. His father noticed this, and took him camping in the mountains to cheer him up and have a "man talk". Despite his father attempt to cheer him up, Yuma remained to sulk and refused to talk about his problems. When his father was found after the snowstorm accident, Yuma notices The Emperor's Key in his hands and stares at it. Sometime later, he Dueled against some bullies and lost, then was mocked to the point of tears welling up in his eyes. Then his father showed up, shouting him encouragement and tossed him in the key. Moved by this, Yuma started to always wear the key and do "Kattobingu". After his parents went missing and were assumed dead, he is looked after by his grandmother and Kari, who began to forbid him from Dueling, but he still does it behind her back. Although, unknown to Yuma, she did this because of her promise to their parents to protect him, and that their father warned her about being careful with Yuma's Duels because one day a great destiny would awaken from one of his Duels. Sometime after gaining the key, a door shaped like the head of a demon, wrapped in chains started haunting Yuma in his dreams, causing him to have the same nightmare almost every night. In that dream, he meets the door upon a old zig-zag raised path and a voice says; "Whoever opens this door will obtain a new power, in exchange but will lose what they appreciate the most.", and seems to make his key react to this. However, Yuma always wakes up before he can open it and appears to never told anybody about his dreams.
Once again, Yuma is plagued by nightmares of a demonic gate and a voice says that whoever opens this door will receive a new power but in compensation they will lose their most precious thing. Yuma wonders about his most precious thing as the key lights up, but the ground below him suddenly crumbles away causing him to fall into an abyss. Waking up, Yuma falls out of the hammock in his attic and commentating that he is having that same dream again. Then he notices that his clock strikes at 8 o'clock and realizes that he is late for school. Yuma moans at Kari for not waking him up, but she tells Yuma that he's in high school, he should wake himself up, causing Yuma to pull a face. Dashing outside, Yuma bids goodbye to his grandmother Haru, but when asked if he had breakfast, he insists that he doesn't need it and is late. His grandmother is unhappy by this and catches the collar of his shirt with her broom and lifts him off the ground, and demanding that he eats, which he complied. The entity reveals himself to be Astral, a Duelist from another world, shocking Yuma. As Yuma talks with Astral, he notices his friends, and everyone else, cannot see him. Astral tries to take over Yuma's Duel, stating that he has to win at all costs with Yuma complaining that it was his Duel. Astral tries to order Yuma around, intentionally or not, to gain the advantage against Shark. However, Yuma refuses to listen to Astral as he is taken down each turn. When Astral informs him that his own life fades as Yuma's Life Points decrease, Yuma takes Astral's advice and uses "Monster Reborn" to Special Summon "Gagaga Magician" from his Graveyard. Astral gifts Yuma with "Number 39: Utopia", an Xyz Monster. Yuma has never owned one before and was excited, and Summons it by overlaying "Gagaga Magician" with "Ganbara Knight". Astral states that "Utopia" is the power he has entrusted to Yuma and that he must use it to win the Duel. With this card, Yuma made a comeback, and manages to pull off a win using it in a combo with "Double or Nothing!". Shark is returned to normal, and returns Bronk's Deck as promised, which Yuma thanks him for. As Shark leaves, Yuma tells Shark he had a lot of fun and says they should Duel again someday just for fun.
Tori Meadows is a 13 year old girl with green hair and hazel eyes. She is friends with Yuma, and friends with Bronk. Due to her unyielding personality, she tends to tease Yuma for his mistakes; despite this, she still cares for him and never leaves his side.
Tori has a more serious relationship with Max Redstone. It's definintely more than just puppy love. Not only is Max teaching her to dance, he bought her a RoboPet, which she named Tea. Sometime in the future, two days after Tori's 18th birthday, she and Max will become engaged.
Bronk Stone was originally a bully, but now is one of Yuma Tsukumo's friends and is a skilled Duelist, who attends the same school as Yuma, "Shark", and Tori.
Reginald "Shark" Kastle
Reginald Kastle, also known as "Shark", is one of Yuma Tsukumo's friends and rivals. He was originally a cold and malicious person, but has grown quite humble. He uses a Xyz water deck consisting of monstrous looking sea creatures such as various races of sharks.
Astral is a a spirit from another dimension, and best friends with Yuma Tsukumo. His memories are scattered in the form of the 99 "Numbers", and so far 14 of them have been collected. Furthermore, these "Numbers" are special Xyz Monsters that cannot be destroyed with cards in this world. When two or more "Numbers" confront in a Duel, they will fight each other to consume one another. When their owners are defeated in a Duel, the cards are absorbed into Astral.

Kai Moto (Yu-Gi-Oh GX)
Kai is Yugi's younger cousin, who left to attend the Duel Academy, hoping to get out of Yugi's shadow. Everywhere he went, he was always expected great things like his cousin, and all he wanted to do is stand on his own. Once he entered Duel Academy, he had to take a duel test, which he passed quicker than most. Crowler was so impressed, that he wanted him to join Obelisk, however Kai heard of how most of the Obelisk students were very snobbish, so he turned him down. In retaliation, Crowler put him in the Slifer dorm.
While in the Slifer dorm, he met Jaden, Chumley and Syrus, and became friends with them. He also met a Ra student, Mikey O'Shea, who became his best friend. Soon after, he met the woman of his dreams, Alexis Rhodes of the Obelisk. Unlike other Obelisks, Alexis was usually very kind, unless someone annoyed her, but she still tried to be nice to them regardless.
While studying at the Duel Academy, Kai helped Jaden and the others against various threats. One of their biggest threats came in the form of Yami Marik, an old enemy of his cousin. Kai dueled Yami Marik twice in his time at the academy (one of them when he controlled his friend Mikey), but on the second duel, Kai lost, and was forced into the Shadow Realm. Yami Marik then made Alexis his mind slave.
But Mikey was too good a friend to leave Kai trapped. He challenged Yami Marik to a Duel, for the freedom of both Kai and Alexis. And thanks to his training, Mikey won, bringing Kai back from the Shadow Realm, even though Yami Marik cursed Mikey as he returned to the Shadow Realm.
But Kai's greatest challenge was yet to come. Sometime after his return from the Shadow Realm, Yugi sent him the Egyptian God cards. And he would need them, as he had to face Zorc, with Alexis' freedom on the line. Dark Magician told Kai that if nothing was done, Alexis would surrender to Zorc after she graduated, and then marry Frostbite, ruler of the Frozen Realm. Zorc knew if Kai could harness their power, Alexis would never be his. He sent a dark version of Grandpa Moto to try and stop Kai, but he failed, thanks to the God Cards protecting Kai.
Kai went to see Alexis. She told him they should just run away together, before graduating. Kai told her he knew about Zorc. Alexis was relieved not to have to keep it a secret. As Alexis returned to the dorm, Kai went to the abandoned dorm to train, but a Duel Spirit told him it wasn't safe. Soon, an Alexis from the future, one who served Zorc, came to attack him. Alexis tried to fight Zorc's control, but couldn't. Dark Magician Girl told Kai his love for Alexis would stop her. Indeed, he was able to stop her with nothing more than a kiss.
Zorc himself went after Kai next. He tried to bring the abandoned dorm down on Kai. But Kai unleashed some hidden power and escaped. His arm was encased in golden armor, which only he, and Duel Spirits, could see, at least, until he completed it. And he completed it quickly. Zorc returned, placing a sleeping spell on Alexis. Kai's armor fully manifested itself, along with a sword. Kai and Zorc fought, with Kai coming out on top. But Zorc did not leave empty handed. He took a few of Alexis' hairs, to make his own dark version of her. Kai woke Alexis the next morning with a kiss.
Soon, Alexis graduated, and went to teach at Duel College in the United States. Kai would join her when he graduated. They would marry, and one of their great-grandchildren, Alex Moto, would be a close friend of Ernie Redstone. Alex's grandson (sharing his name) will be living in Heartland during the incident of the Number Hunters.
Alex Moto III (Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal)
Alex is the great-great-great-grandson of Kai and Alexis, sharing many things with them. He also has some things that are also his own, like his martial arts. He also duels. His deck compromises his martial arts personality. He also has two keepsakes that he carries with him; a necklace that he always wears that was given to him by his Sensei, and the Blade Skater card that Alexis used to use in dueling as Alex keeps it as a good luck charm.

She can temporarily borrow Xely's powers, but if it does, it does inactive. Currently uses a Machine Angel Deck. She was altered by magic to handle Xely's powers.
(5Ds)Zero- Once used a Zero-level Dark Synchro Deck (my own idea), but was defeated by Def. Currently works with the Guardians. He uses a zero attack deck.
(5Ds)Jake- Robotic Duel Opponent, altered by Judge. Currently has Judge's powers. Current deck is a Judge Man Deck.
(5Ds)Craig- Former son of Krakus, now human, and no longer feeding on thoughts. Mina loved him still. Does not know about the clone.

(ZeXal)Dennis- High School Sophmore, and Yu-Gi-Oh! player in the ZeXal anime. He has a number (see fanfic in OOC) and guards the Numbers from being used from evil. His deck revolves around keeping his Exceed monsters around longer than most other Exceed Monsters.
(Zexal)Angel- High School Sophmore. The girl all the guys want to be with. She is a decent duelist, and uses a Light / Angel Deck, with a Number. Currently friends with Dennis.
(This is Yu-Gi-Oh related, so I am posting here) Dracul is a powerful vampire under the service of the current ruler of the dimension Devon has entered. His powers are similar to most vampires. He does not duel often, but he uses a Vampire Genesis deck.
Lillith is the oldest of the female vampires known. There is only one other older than her -- her master. She can control most vampire men by looking at them. She duels using a Vampire Lady-style deck. Currently under the service of Devon.
The current master of the realm, Cain, is the first known vampire that existed. It is through him that all other vampires have been created. He has not yet been slain, and has slain many others that have tried to defeat him. Few have tried to gather together to defeat him. He is mobile, moving from place to place, to make sure that no one vampire can defeat him. He does duel, but no one knows his deck style. Many claim that Dracul, Lillith and Cain are cards in his deck, but none have survived to tell the tale of what is in the deck.
Baelzubub is Cain's "master". He is known is the Prince of lies, and loves to make deals with others so that he can break free. He currently works with Cain, but if there is a fighter or duelist that can survive long enough, this demon will find a way to deal with this person. He often times punishes those that fail by sending them into the fires of Earth.
Sara is a 22 year old girl, who happens to be quite wealthy. Her parents died when she was 13, and her only living relative is her uncle. She has a lot of money from an inheritance, and has been running several businesses well. Unfortunately, she ran afowl of Devon and his vampires, becoming Devon's mistress, in a sense.
She dreams of getting married, but has no idea of who to marry.
Dennis(See above) is a Protector of Duelists in Heartland. He protects those that have Number cards. His deck revolves around keeping his XYZ cards in the game longer than most people.

Elias Redstone III (Yu-Gi-Oh)
An amateur Duelist from the town of Checkerville, Elias came to Domino City during the Battle City tournament with one goal; to meet Mai Valentine. Ever since reading an interview with her in a Duelist magazine, he knew he just had to meet her. When he arrived in Domino, he was made a mind slave by Marik Ishtar, but seeing Mai's picture on a magazine freed him. Eventually, he met her, and told her he'd like to Duel her. If he won, she had to go out on a date with him. If she won, he would give her a bottle of her favorite perfume. Mai accepted, and to her surprise, Elias won. She promised him they would have their date after the Battle City finals. Elias would help Mai when Jean Claude Magnum tried to force her to marry him. In the aftermath, Elias asked her why she accepted his duel, even though he wanted a date as his prize. Mai pointed out that a date was different than marriage.
When Marik banished Mai's mind to the Shadow Realm, Elias wanted to avenge her, He bought a very large knife, and was ready to use it on Marik, but Yugi and his friends convinced him how foolish it would be. When Kaiba's airship was taken to a mysterious island, Elias, not wanting Marik to do anything to Mai's helpless body, took her with him when he left the airship. Once in Noah Kaiba's virtual world, Elias stood guard over her. When he was challenged by Lascap, a former computer programmer for KaibaCorp, Elias had no hesitation in choosing his deck master, His favorite card was the Wall of Illusion. He had won many a duel with it, and this one was no exception. In the aftermath of Marik's defeat, Mai's mind was returned to her body, and she and Elias began planning their date.
As the airship returned to Domino, Elias was greeted by his nephew Mickey. Elias's brother, Edgar, was getting a job in Domino, so the family was moving there. His date with Mai lead to a Duel Partnership, and the two of them left Domino to find new Duelists to beat. As they traveled, they became closer. After one duel, Elias was ready to propose, but Mai was missing. She had been lured in by Dartz, promising to help her forget about what happened to her at Marik's hands. The next time Elias saw her, she was a servant of the Orichalcos. She and Ernie dueled at Industrial Illusions, a duel that was ended early by Valon, another of Dartz's crew. In that duel, Ernie received a dragon card, Hermos. He would have won the duel with Hermos' help if not for Valon. After the duel, Elias gave Hermos to Joey, and went after Mai. He would find and duel Valon, another duel that ended without a winner. Elias would eventually speak to Mai's spirit, in a magical valley. She told him that he had to fight to restore her, and that she loved him. But Ernie would soon lose his soul in a duel. Eventually, after the Leviathan was defeated, Elias and Mai were reunited. He finally proposed, and she said yes. As long as they could compete in the upcoming KaibaCorp Grand Prix first. Never one to pass up a duel, Ernie agreed. Mai lost her first round duel, as did Ernie, to an old rival of his from Checkerville.
The day of their wedding came, but they wouldn't be getting married just yet. A deranged classmate of Ernie's from Checkerville High, Wilma Webster, thought she was in love with Ernie, and wanted to marry him herself. She tried to kill Mai by running her down. She almost succeeded. When Elias refused to go with her, she shot him. He and Mai found themselves reunited at Domino City Hospital, agreeing to wait until they were both healthy again to get married.
For their honeymoon, Elias and Mai went to China, where Mai drew the attention of an ancient demon, Er Mo. His servants abducted her, and placed Ernie in a dungeon. By the time Ernie found her, she had given birth to Er Mo's children, after a pregnancy that lasted but one night. All but one of these half-demon children took after their father. This lone child was considered weak by Er Mo, who wanted to destroy it. Elias destroyed Er Mo, and most of his offspring. Only the "weakling" remained. Mai named this child Yugi Redstone, and Dark Magician Girl took him to her realm to raise. With Mai's quickly matured son watching out for them, Elias and Mai's life was rather quiet. Mai would give birth to a daughter, Valentina Elisa Redstone. Her middle name coming from Elias' twin sister, who was killed in a freak lightning strike when they were 16. Elias, who had stopped to look at new Duel Monsters cards, had blamed himself for sometime. Tina took after her parents, and was a budding Duelist in her own right. When she was 8, she wanted to attend Duel Academy, but was too young. Thanks to a large monetary gift Elias had received as compensation from Seto Kaiba after the murders of Edgar and his wife, Elias and Mai set about to open a school, a pre-Academy for younger Duelists. Once it opened, their school would be a huge success, lasting in some shape or form for over a millennium. And soon, Mai was pregnant again, this time giving birth to a son, Elias IV.
In 3006, the Redstone School would have a small class, but it still remained in the family, being run by Elias and Mai's descendant, Val Redstone, and his wife, Deena Devlin.
Mickey Redstone (Yu-Gi-Oh)
Elias' teenage nephew, Mickey had little interest in Dueling, like his Uncle. His skill lied in the dance game at the arcade. When he went to Domino City to find his uncle and tell him they were moving there, he met Tea, and found someone who shared his love of dance. Mickey soon became a classmate of Tea's, along with Yugi, Joey and Tristan. Mickey was instantly in love with Tea, but she seemed only to have eyes for Yugi's other self, the Pharaoh. Mickey would travel with his new friends to California, where they would have run ins with Dartz and his crew. Mickey and Tea would eventually find themselves alone, with the return of the Leviathan impending. Seeing Tea was scared, Mickey asked if they could be scared together. Tea, thinking he was asking her out, said no. Mickey left, only to be ambushed by Dartz. Under Dartz's control he returned to Tea, giving her a choice, join him, or be given to the Leviathan. A mysterious stranger helped Mickey break free of Dartz's control, and Tea started to reconsider Mickey's offer.
With his Uncle in the hospital after being shot, Mickey did not go to Egypt with the others. But when they returned, and the Pharaoh was gone, Mickey and Tea started dating. She was his date to the senior prom, a night which almost ended intimately. A strange voice told Tea if she slept with Mickey, he would take her that night. Tea told Mickey she changed her mind, and he understood. After graduation, Mickey decided to travel the world, studying dance. He told Tea he would return for her when he was done, and they kissed. But shortly after Mickey left, Tea was taken to the tiny island nation of Shabadaba, where it's elderly Sultan wanted to make her his bride. Surprisingly, Tea agreed. To celebrate their marriage, the Sultan had the Bolshoi Ballet perform. And the Bolshoi had a new dancer in it's line-up; Mickey. He and Tea were reunited, the Sultan gave them three hours alone. Mickey and Tea became lovers in that time, with Mickey telling her that when they next saw each other, they would be married. Tea smiled. Mickey would dance with the Bolshoi for a while longer, before resuming his travels. He returned to Domino City after a decade of travel. But Tea wasn't there.
After the passing of the Sultan, Tea returned home with plenty of jewels, giving her a small fortune, most of which was claimed in taxes. She moved to New York, to fulfill her dreams of choreographing a Broadway musical about Dark Magician Girl. Mickey showed up at her apartment, and asked her to marry him. She said yes. But Tea soon had another suitor; no less than Dracula himself. With Mickey knocked out by a mugger, whom Dracula dispatched, he took Tea to his hotel suite and bit her. Mickey would save her, using a tree branch as a wooden stake. He and Tea married in a quick civil ceremony the next day, to prepare for her opening night, nearly a week later. An opening which was ruined by Dracula's return, with Tristan now in his thrall. The opening was interrupted by vampire bats and an apparent sprinkler malfunction, which was caused by Dracula to wash any garlic off of Tea. Mickey freed Tristan from Dracula's control, and then went to find Tea. Dracula had bitten her again, and was going to take her back to Transylvania. Mickey, however, ambushed the driver of Dracula's hearse, driving it to an empty field. When Dracula confronted him, Mickey threw holy water in Dracula's coffin, forcing him to forget about Tea.
But the newlyweds' troubles weren't done yet. The musical's backer, the mysterious Mr K, wanted Tea for himself, hoping she would become mother to his child. Mr K was, in fact, Gozeburo Kaiba, wanting a child to replace his son, Noah. To escape from him, Mickey gave himself and Tea a potion he obtained in Africa, to fake their death. As Mickey had hoped, they were placed in cheap coffins and shipped back to Domino City. They stayed with Mickey's parents, thinking their troubles were behind them. But Mr K and his men followed them. One night, while Tina was staying with them, the thugs broke into the house. Mickey's parents were killed, and Tea was taken. Mickey kept his young cousin safe, then went after them. He stopped the thugs, and Mr K went to jail. Although a procedure had been performed, allegedly an artificial insemination, using Mr K's DNA as the father.
But things weren't about to settle down for them. A ballerina from the Bolshoi, Tatiana, believed she was the only one worthy of Mickey. To this end, she shot Tea. While she was hospitalized, the doctors confirmed she was pregnant, and that Mickey was the father. But while Tatiana kidnapped Mickey, someone else took Tea, a creature from a frozen realm, called Chillobite. Chillobite was the last of his kind, and desired Tea as his mate. But Mickey, now freed from Tatiana, was sent by Dark Magician Girl to save Tea. But, Chillobite had already transformed her, to adapt to the cold.. To return her to normal, they had to sacrifice their unborn child. After fighting off Dracula's son, Alucard, Mickey and Tea finally had time to relax. And thanks to Seto Kaiba, who took money from his father's private accounts, they had plenty of money to but a house, and start a dancing school.
All the difficulties they had gone though lead them to join the Society of Light. Sartorious had plans for them, wanting them to have a child, who would be the personification of The Light. Mickey and Tea each drank a special potion, given to them by Sartorious. And soon, Tea was indeed pregnant, but the Society of Light was defeated. Tea would give birth to a son, who Mickey would name Edgar, after his murdered father. In times of great need, Edgar would display incredible powers, which even he would not understand.
Edgar was not the first child Tea had given birth to. She had a child with the Sultan, a son named Rashid, who took his father's throne when he died. But Shabadaba was threatened by a rival island, Cordoba. Rashid needed a way to keep Shabadaba safe, and asked his mother to come back. He turned her over to the Caliph of Cordoba, for his harem. But finding out Tea was of common birth, he abandoned her to the sea, and took over Shabadaba. Mickey found her, with the help of Seto Kaiba. Finally, they would be together, and nothing would split them up again. After a few years, Tea gave birth to a daughter, Elisa. She and Mickey opened their dance studio, and began teaching a new generation of dancers in Domino City.
Nearly a thousand years later, Mickey and Tea's descendant, also named Tea, would fall in love with and marry Orion Hanson Crowmeowme, and create with him a child to save the world from mutants who wanted to pick up where Ransik left off.
Mikey O'Shea (Yu-Gi-Oh GX)
Mickey's younger cousin, Mikey was orphaned at a young age when his parents were killed in a car accident. He was raised by his Aunt and Uncle, alongside Mickey. But he would also spend a lot of time with Elias and Mai. He was their first Duel Protege. Thanks to their teachings, Mikey made it into Duel Academy, where he was assigned to the Ra Yellow dorm. There, he met his girlfriend, Felina Fontane, niece of the Academy's gym teacher. But Mikey had a roving eye, and enjoyed staring at other girls, including Alexis Rhodes and Sadie, but remained faithful to Fonda. During his second year, his Aunt and Uncle were murdered. He returned to Domino City for their funeral, but worried he might not be able to return to the Academy. Elias and Mickey both reassured him they would handle his tuition. Mikey returned to the Academy, and Felina.
In his third year, the Society of Light arrived at Duel Academy. Mikey didn't trust them, and did what he could to foil their plans. In the midst of this, Felina was chosen by a being named Aquatus to be his bride. Mikey could do nothing, and lost his love. But he kept on fighting, using guerrilla tactics to keep the Society from winning duels. With their defeat, he was free to return to classes, but the year was over.
That summer, he met Mai's granddaughter, Mana, the child of Yugi Redstone and Dark Magician Girl. She and Mikey fell in love. They went to Duel Academy, Mikey thinking he would have to repeat his third year, before graduating. But he was allowed to take his graduation exam and duel, and passed. Now that he graduated, though, he didn't want to leave Mana. So, he got a job working for Dorothy at the card shop. This allowed him to remain with Mana, but also with his friend, Kai Moto. And it was while helping Kai that Mikey had a run-in with Yami Marik, escaped from the Shadow Realm. He cursed Mikey to never find love again. Mikey's selfless actions, helping Mana, Tea and Rebbecca Hawkins from a vampire, and Mana's declaration of love, allowed Dark Magician Girl to free him from the curse.
As Mana's graduation neared, Mikey proposed. She accepted, and they were married after she was done with Duel Academy. Mana would give birth to a son, Mikey Jr. Dark Magician Girl would adore her grandson, and gave him a pet Kuriboh, who he called Kwi'boh.
In the year 3007, Michaela Redstone, Mikey and Mana's great great great great great great great granddaughter, would be tested by Dark Magician Girl, to see if she had the gift for magic. She didn't.
Ernie Redstone (Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds)
By the dawn of the Turbo Dueling era, the Redstones were the second most prominent name in Dueling, after Kaiba. This is the world Elias and Mai's great grandsons, Elias VI and Ernie, were born into. Ernie was used to having the best of everything. A penthouse apartment in The Tops, near Leo and Luna's. The best Duel Monster cards available, old and new. And his Duel Runner, the Radstone, was was state of the art, some of it's components straight from the factory. The only thing his life was missing was love. Despite the companionship of his cat, Valentine, and his Mobile Artificial Intelligence, or M.A.I., who had a holographic form that resembled his Great Grandmother, Ernie was lonely. While attending Duel Academy, he had dated Angela Raines, but her dreams of being a reporter caused them to drift apart.
As the Fortune Cup neared, Ernie, who wasn't competing, had been trying to score a date with Mina Simington, but to no avail. As he watched the competition from his family's private box at the Kaiba Dome, Ernie saw one of the competitors, Akiza the Black Rose, and fell in love with her. He sent a note with a rose to her locker, but she ignored it. Taking this as a sign of rejection, Ernie went home, to keep improving his deck.
But Ernie wasn't the only one interested in Akiza. Her psychic Dueling abilities drew the attention of Zorc the Dark One. He wanted her as his Queen. Appearing before her, in a disguise, he offered to help her control her powers, to make her the greatest Duelist of all time, if she would marry him. She refused, not ready for marriage. Dark Magician Girl, also in disguise, lead her to Ernie, knowing he could help her, and that they were destined to be together. When Akiza showed up at his door, Ernie was pleasantly surprised. Akiza agreed to stay with Ernie, for her own safety, but she had business to attend to first. Unfortunately, Zorc and his followers ambushed her. She was forced to drink a love potion, so she would marry Zorc. But Ernie arrived on his Runner and saved her, taking her back to his apartment. Akiza fell in love with Ernie, thanks to the potion. She kissed him, lighting the spark of romance that would ignite after the potion wore off.
Zorc did not give up on her easily. While Akiza went to rest in Ernie's guest room, Ernie was working on his Runner. Zorc took his form to finally claim Akiza. She could tell he wasn't the real Ernie, and tried to escape. Zorc sealed the room, and told her if she didn't submit to him, his followers would kill Ernie. She agreed, but before Zorc could take her soul, Dark Magician Girl gave her a powerful flashlight. She used it to force Zorc away. Ernie came to her rescue again, and fixed her a meal. Then the power went out. Zorc had one final hand to play. He had Akiza come back into the bedroom, and again threatened Ernie, along with Leo and Luna. Akiza submitted, and Zorc bit her. He gave her one year to defeat the Dark Signers, before he would claim her. Unless she found a true enough love that she would give herself to, body and soul. Zorc left, and the power came back. She told Ernie, and he gave her a special candle, a Hinotama candle, that would protect her.
But Zorc had plans to get rid of Ernie. He sent a Vampire Genesis to turn Ernie into a vampire. But Dark Magician Girl sent Akiza a dream, warning her of Zorc's plan. Ernie was bitten, but the Hinotama candle kept her from entering the bedroom. He tried to trick her into leaving the bedroom. She did leave the bedroom, and kissed Ernie, curing him of being a vampire. Zorc caused the lights to go out again, ready to kill Ernie. Akiza used the Hinotama candle to keep him safe. Zorc still had other plans. He told her to give up on him, or he would be killed while riding on his Runner. Dark Magician Girl made sure Ernie's Runner would not start, preventing that from happening. While Ernie was running some errands, Akiza was ambushed by a group, founded to fight Zorc. She was saved by Ernie's dad, Elias V.
Ernie's proposal was quite unusual. After he and Akiza were sent to the Realm of Monsters, to hide the, for Zorc's enemies, Ernie found a ring box in his pocket. Dark Magician Girl placed it there. Ernie nervously proposed, and Akiza said yes, as long as they didn't get married until the Earthbound Immortals were defeated. But Zorc upped his deadline, telling Akiza she would be his at the next full moon. Ernie knew only one way out of this. He and Akiza went to New Domino City Hall, and were quickly married, by Ernie's cousin, a judge.
But even that didn't cause Zorc to give up. He sent the dark clone of Alexis who had had as his servant at the time to stop Ernie and Akiza from consummating their marriage, no matter what. A being named Frostbite freed her from Zorc's servitude, making her his Queen. Zorc tried to scare Akiza, by threatening to kill Ernie, but that did nothing to delay them. Akiza gave herself to Ernie that night, saving her from Zorc, forever.Zorc would take his anger out on all of New Domino, but again, his plans were thwarted.
With Zorc no longer a threat, the only other who endangered their new happiness was Sayer, head of the Arcadia movement. He wanted Akiza for himself. Ernie went with Akiza when she went to tell him she was leaving the Movement. But Sayer would not easily take no for an answer, even aligning with Zorc to try and get rid of Ernie. But he failed, and Zorc made him pay.
Over the next few months, Akiza would secretly be replaced by a clone, when the real one was taken by a vampire-like creature to be his bride. Ernie would never know it wasn't the real Akiza. Akiza was then sent back in time, to the era of Yugi Moto. She was returned to her time, after spending a century in the Frozen Realm with Chillobite, giving him a child, Frostbite. The same Frostbite who indirectly saved Ernie from Zorc. But to Ernie, she was only gone a few days. When she returned, their reunion was passionate, resulting in a pregnancy. M.A.I. informed them that she was pregnant, with twins. While Ernie didn't want her Turbo Dueling in her condition, when Crow was injured, she had no choice. She helped Team 5Ds win their first round in the World Racing Grand Prix. But while training on M.A.I.'s simulator, the server was hacked and she was left comatose. The babies were unharmed, thankfully. Ernie never left her side in the hospital. And now, after the city was attacked by Iliaster, Ernie and Akiza have become adoptive parents to a baby girl, who they named Emily, after Ernie's grandmother. Akiza would later give birth to twins, Ernie Jr and Azika. After the Grand Prix, Ernie, Akiza and the kids moved to Germany, where Akiza studied medicine and become a prominent pediatrician. They are now planning on moving back to New Domino.
Max Redstone (Yu-Gi-Oh ZeXal)
Max is a descendent of Mickey and Tea's, and thus, prefers dancing to dueling. His father, Mickey III, is a famous choreographer. His mother, Millie, was a dancer in a show that Mickey III was working on. They travelled across the country, before settling down with their two children. Max's older brother is a photographer, who recently got a job at the same paper Yuma's older sister works for. Because his family was travelling all the time, Max had little chance to make friends. Luckily, he's got his robot pet, Shabadaba, named for the kingdom where Tea lived for several years. Max calls him Shaba for short, and seems to be the only one who can understand Shaba's language. He also has feelings for his classmate, Tori, which may be love, but for now, he isnt sure. Shaba was dmaged saving Tori from one of Zorc's grandsons. By selling some old Redstone Dance Revolution videogames and most of the remaining jewelry that Tea received from The Sutan of Shabadaba, Max had more than enough to have Shaba repaired and upgraded, and to buy a robopet for Tori, who she named Tea.
After five years of dating, two days after Tori's 18th birthday, Max will propose to her, shortly after saving her from the field Diabound, with help from the spirit of his ancestor, Ahado. Tori said yes without hesitation.
Martin "Marty" Redstone (Yu-Gi-Oh ZeXal)
Max's older brother. Unlike the rest of his family, Marty is not a dancer. He has no rhythym at all. He does, however, have a great eye for photos. He started taking pictures of dance routines for his parents. In high school, he was on both the school paper and the yearbook. He made extra money taking pictures at school dances. After graduation, he went to college, studying to become a professional. Recenty hired by the same paper Yuma's sister, Kari, works for. After a brief courtship, Marty and Kari are now married. They plan on starting a family after the Duel Carnival.
Devon Darke (Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds)
Devon Darke is a mysterious, and potentially powerful, Duelist, newly arrived in New Domino. He uses a Vampire deck, and has never lost a Duel. He seeks to find the personifications for this three most powerful cards, the Vampire Goddesses. He found them in Tea, Alexis, and Akiza's counterpart from a parallel world, where Ernie remained with Angela after graduating from Duel Academy.
Devon serves the powerful Exodia Nosferatos, who has taken a clone of Carly as his first bride. After being defeated by Ernie, Akiza and Emily Redstone, Devon along with his brides Venus (a clone of Mina) and Crimsona (Akiza from the Abridged dimension, travelled to a dimension of vampires. Devon plans to unite the various tribes of vampires under his leadership. He now has a daughter, Brunetta, and another child, yet to be born.
After laying low for sometime, Devon showed up in Heartland, where he has begun to turn Kari Tsukumo-Redstone into his bride.

The Caradmians are an alien race that arrived on Earth after the Barians. They are a proud, ancient race, but they birth very few females. As such, they take mates from other planets. Their home, Caradmian World, is extremely advanced, technologically. Their ships can travel across thousands of light years in a matter of hours. They can create clones, age people or displace them in time.
Caradmian warriors are incredibly fierce, among the most dangerous fighters in the universe. Few are the opponents to defeat one in battle, and live to brag of their victory for more than a few hours, before another Caradmian warrior seeks to uphold the honor of his race. Despite this fierceness, the Caradmians are not conquerors. If their target does not surrender, the standard Caradmian tactic is to destroy the nearest star. When one does surrender, the Caradmians take much needed females, as few as a dozen, or as many as 100,000, depending on the total population of the planet, then leave.
By tradition, the King of Caradmian World is named Caradmias, differentiated by varying titles. The current ruler, Caradmias the Young is, in Earth years, only 13. His ancestors include Caradmias the Mighty, Caradmias the Wise, Caradmias the Elder and Caradmias the Wise. His father, originally known as Caradmias the Eager, was posthumously renamed Caradmias the Short-Lived, falling in battle at the relatively young age of 40 Earth years. Caradmian Kings and their Queens are the only ones allowed to drink the juice of the Caradmian fruit, which extends their life spans to several thousand years. The longest was Caradmias the Eternal, who lived to roughly 7,500 Earth years. On average, Caradmian rulers live 4,000 to 5,000 Earth years.
Because of the few female Caradmians born, roughly one for every thousand males, the Caradmians take mates from other planets. Science has made sure Caradmians are compatible biologically with all other races. The most prominent Caradmians are allowed harems, some of up to 20 females. A Caradmian designates his bride by biting her on the shoulder, marking her as his. Only does the King get a formal ceremony. By tradition, the chosen Queen is given seven rooms within the massive royal palace, and can do with them whatever she pleases.
Black Eyes Red Dragon
The Black Eyes Red Dragon abducted Tori on her 18th Birthday, saying she was destined to be his bride. He appeared before her, looking like Max, except ith black eyes and hair. In this form, he tricked her into marrying him, by sharing a piece of fruit with him, which was considered a marriage ceremony in his realm. Some unknown force brought the real Max to this realm, and he challenged the imposter for Tori. Using dance skills, Max easily defeated the fake, and was told Tori was his, but, that she could leave the realm without dying, unless she slept one night with him. Shaba determined Tori could be saved with a rare wine, grown and bottled by Maximillian Pegasus, which could be found on Duelist Kingdom. Max returned home to get this wine. After he left, however, "Max" revealed his true form to Tori, and told her she would be his mate until Max returned.
Ernie Redstone III (Arc V)
The wealthy son of Ernie Redstone Jr and his wife Minnie, Ernie III is, like most of his family, a skilled Duelist. He learned Dueling from his Grandpa Ernie and Grandma Akiza. He married a woman named Maria, heiress to a vast fortune. Sadly, Maria was killed in one of the last Turbo Duel accidents, before Turbo Dueling fell out of style in favor of action duels. Ernie inherited her fortune, but did not let it go to his head. With too much pressue, he moved himself and his twin children to Paradise City, to begin a new life.
Emile Redstone (Arc V)
Older than his sister by two minutes, Emile Redstone has never wanted for anything since the day he was born. And he always wanted everything. The best Duel Monsters cards, the best holo-technology. Many would say he's spoiled. Those who say it within earshot of Emile learn too late he inherited some of the powers his Great-Grandfather, Craig Carmine, had. He has yet to tap his full potential with them, thankfully, preferring to let his cards do the talking. Emile favors old school dueling, not action cards, which occasionally may seem to be a disadvantage. But he's skilled enough to win most of his Duels. Now that his father has moved the family to Paradise City, someone may have to teach him that money does not buy happiness.
Emily Redstone (Arc V)
A red head, like her Great Grandmother Akiza, Emily (named for her great Aunt) is very different from her brother. She thinks of others first and herself second. She doesn't care if what she has is the best, as long as others have something just as good, if not better. Because of this, her cards are not the most formidable deck, and her Dueling skills don't always live up to the Redstone legacy. But, she knows with the right teachers, she will get better. And hopefully, make some new friends along the way.
A creature, related to the Egyptian God Obelisk the Tormentor, Obelisk Maximus is far more powerful, and thus, more dangerous. Obelisk Maximus is capable of sending aspects of himself in human form out to further his agendas. One such aspect was known as Mr X, a crime boss in New York City. He encountered Max and Tori Redstone on their honeymoon, when his thugs stole their RoboPets. This crime was not a coincidence. Obelisk Maximus had been following Tori ever since Yuma began his successful string of duels. Obelisk Maximus intended to take females from different eras, each an acquaintance of the best Duelist of the age, breed with them, knowing that the amount of time they spent near these great Duelists would be enough to pass Duel potential onto their offspring. Mr X forced Tori to sleep with him, after abducting her to his private island, in international waters. He impregnated her, beginning his plan. After Mr X was jailed, Obelisk Maximus recalled him, making it seem as if he had escaped from custody. He also visited Tori in her dreams, telling her he would claim her at the next full moon. He marked her, with a stylized OM on her chest, which would burn those who touched it. He claimed Tori as he promised, unaware Max followed them into his dimension. Once he had Tori in his realm, he went after Tea, taking her the night before she returned home to Domino City from Shabadaba. He has yet to try to impregnate her, as he immediately moved onto his third target; Akiza. He is attempting to get her to cooperate by threatening her children and husband. Once he has her, he will go after his final (for now) target, Alexis.
The creature called Zoarch is older then time itself. He is more powerful than any known Duel Monster, even the Egyptian God Cards. It is believed that if one could fuse all three of them together, one would have a chance og defeating Zoarch, but no one has ever had the skill to do so.
Zoarch appeared briefly in ancient Egypt, where his shadow became sentient. This shadow is the creature known as Zorc the Dark One.
For millennia upon millennia, Zoarch has been in a cold war of sorts with Krakus. He knows that if he could take someone of Krakus' power, it would tip the scales in his favor. And the only way he could do that would be by claiming a female from Krakus' bloodline as his bride.
To help him achieve his goal, he will do whatever it takes, including making deals with others, like the mysterious shadow. He can summon fierce creatures to serve him, more powerful than even a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. If these creatures find a female with power, who is young enough to provide an heir, one of them will attempt to make her its mate.
The son of the powerful demon Er Mo, AbAb posed as a human named Abercrombie Abernathy. His father sent him to Earth as a back-up plan, in his plot to finish off the Redstone family. Er Mo knew Emile Redstone was destined to fall in love with Zuzu Boyle, so AbAb watched her. As he did, he fell for her. After he lost contact with his father, AbAb put his plan into motion. Luring Emile and Zuzu into his home, with a fake For Sale listing, AbAb challenged Emile to a Duel. But it wasn't an ordinary Duel. AbAb had come into possession of the Millennium Scales, so this was a Shadow Game, In the end, Emile lost and was trapped in the Shadow Realm, while AbAb took Zuzu, to make her his Queen.

This is my Arc-V Original Character.
Name: Victor Age: 14 Victor is the latest in the line of Guardians. He is the one who gave Dennis the Pendulum Cards he has. Tactics: Victor uses a Pendulum Scale Prevention deck. Most of his traps are designed to prevent his opponent from Pendulum Summoning, while allowing him to Pendulum Summon. He usually uses Lonely Eyes Sorrowful Dragon as his Ace Card, and has some XYZ monsters as a back-up.
Pendulum effect: If the other Pendulum Monster is not a Spellcaster, reduce this card's Pendulum Scale to 3. Normal Effect: None Pendulum Dragon: Pendulum Scale: 7 Level: 8 3000 ATK / 2500 DEF Dragon / Dark Pendulum Effect: All other dragons in play gain 500 ATK while this card is in your Pendulum Zone. Normal Effect: None
Other Lonely Eyes Shining Dragon Level 7 2800 ATK / 2000 DEF Dragon / Light / Effect If this card is the only card in play, double its attack.
Pendulum Raise Permanent Trap Raise the pendulum scale of one card in your opponent's Pendulum Zone by 2.
Pendulum Lower Permanent Trap Lower the pendulum scale of one card in your opponent's Pendulum Zone by 2.
Pendulum Clear Trap Activate this card only if your opponent has monsters in their Pendulum Zone(s) and you have no monsters in your Pendulum Zone. Destroy all Pendulum Monsters in Play.
Pendulum Balance Counter Trap Activate if your opponent attempts to pendulum summon. Change the Pendulum scale of both monsters in your opponents Pendulum Zones to the average of the two monsters Pendulum Scales. If the result of the sum is odd, change the level of both monsters to the rounded average. This effect lasts until the end of turn.
Sam Age: 14 Former Lio Institute student, transferred to Show You after losing to Victor. Former rival of Victor's, now a close friend. Uses various decks. Is known to have various XYZs and Synchros, as well as a decent Pendulum Summon duelist.

I may have put Parsival elsewhere, but this one will go here.
Name: Yazin (likes to be called Yaz) Series: Yu-Gi-Oh Sevens. Age: 14
Yaz is a regular duelist, trying to transform his Master Rule 4 deck into a Master Rule 5 deck, when he hears about Rush Dueling. He wants to try to learn this style, but likes Master Rule a bit more. His ace cards are Lonely Eyes Sorrowful Dragon (for both styles of dueling) and for MR5, he uses Lonely Eyes Link Dragon (which he gets from a pack of cards he wins during a tournament).
His Rush Duel deck is based upon discarding opponents cards. At this time, his Rush Duel deck is 40 cards, and no Extra Deck. (He will be getting one once it is shown in Sevens)
With a Maximum Summon Mechanic, Yazin will get a Maximum Summon version of Lonely Eyes Sorrowful Dragon. It will be called Maximum Sorrowful Dragon, and only have a Maximum value of 2800. But the effect of this monster will make it stronger than most current Summons.
Maximum Sorrowful Dragon MAXIMUM SUMMON - 2800 ATK
If this is the only Maximum Summon on the field, this monster's attack is doubled.
Sorrowful Dragon - Left Level 3 - 800 attack / 800 defense Effect - If there is no other effect monster on the field, double this card's attack.
Sorrowful Dragon - Center / Maximum Level 7 - 1400 attack / 2200 defense/ MAXIMUM 2800 If this is the only Maximum Summon on the field, double this card's attack. If another card attacks this card and is not Maximum summoned, the attack is reduced by 500 attack.
Sorrowful Dragon - Right - Level 4 - 1500 / 700 defense attack Effect - You may change one monster per turn to face-down defense position. If you use this effect, this card cannot attack.
(As an aside, I had an idea about Maximum Spells and traps, but will hold on both)
